Folsom finale: Dead and Company says goodbye to Boulder Under the cover of a dark gray July sky, more than 30,000 fans of Dead and Company gathered Monday at Folsom Field to say goodbye to the last remaining vestiges of the legendary rock band.Dead and Company, a continuation of the iconic Grateful Dead, has been captivating audiences with their unique blend of rock, folk and psychedelic improvisations since their formation in 2015. Google created a more useful tablet. Here's how.

Google created a more useful tablet. Here's how. I don’t typically recommend Android tablets over the iPad because the experience can be inferior. But now, Google has done something interesting with its new Pixel Tablet. It's an Android tablet with great hardware and software, but it's more useful at home. That's because it comes with dock that charges the tablet when you're not using it and it doubles as a digital photo frame. It's the perfect homebody! The box comes with both the 11-inch tablet and the dock. At this time, you can't buy them separately. The tablet magnetically attaches to the dock, which doubles as a charger and speaker.Pixel Tablet's software is clean and fast - it's basically a giant pixel phone. There’s a fingerprint sensor to unlock at the top and 128 gigabytes of storage standard. The best part about this tablet is that it’s aways ready for you since it’s always charging. Google has built in some software smarts that won't charge the tablet all the way so it preserves the life of the battery. When you’re not using t...

Negative Approach Hangs with Dwarves Negative Approach Hangs with Dwarves: Detroit’s hardcore kings Negative Approach have a loyal fanbase here in SoCal, and this show with Dwarves is going to be wild. Like, crushing circle pit-wild. Limbs flying like the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan-wild. Be prepared! No/Mas and Knoll also perform.Of a recent set with the Circle Jerk’s, we said “There are few hardcore frontmen more naturally intimidating that John Brannon, a man who sounds like he’s gargling broken glass. His stare burns through lead, as he prowls the stage. Honestly, we would have liked to have seen them further up the bill but we doubt the NA guys give a shit. Songs such as ‘Tied Down’ and ‘Ready to Fight,’ plus covers of the Stooges’ ‘I Got a Right’ and Sham 69’s ‘Borstal Breakout’ are the perfect appetizer.”This writer wrote a cover story for the Detroit Metro Times on John Brannon back in 2010, and he said that, “When we started Negative Approach, we held onto our back influences, like Alice Cooper and De...

Taste-Off: The most delicious fruit-flavored ice tea — and the worst Summer hydration starts with water, but when the palate begs for a change, there’s everything right about a deep pour of thirst-quenching, fruit-flavored iced tea.Quick, easy and somewhat healthy, tea falls into the “functional beverage” category, as it’s a source of antioxidants and polyphenols and delivers a touch of caffeine to boost energy and alertness.Bottles and cans of tea come in too many flavors to count, but the most popular on store shelves are black and green teas enhanced with lemon, raspberry, mint or peach. As peach seems to be one of the most popular, we opted for that fruit whenever possible. The best ready to drink, fruit-flavored iced teas have deep brewed tea flavor and a juicy dash of authentic, aromatic fruit flavor. Whether sweet or plain, they are so well balanced that all the flavors shine. Bad bottled ice teas are no...
