SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A robbery who opened fire on a busy street in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood was convicted following a jury trial. Jurors found 32-year-old Damone Maxwell guilty of attempted robbery, assault with a firearm, and assault causing great bodily injury.On the morning of September 9, 2022, Maxwell approached the victim on Natoma Street in SoMa and asked if he had change for a $20 bill. After the victim said "no," Maxwell brandished a firearm and demanded that he hand over "everything he had," according to prosecutors. When the victim refused, Maxwell shot the victim in the leg. "The victim was able to get away before collapsing in a pool of his own blood. DENVER (KDVR) -- The Centennial State has a plethora of hiking trails, so it's tough to decide which is the best of them all. But one international publication did it for us. Travel + Leisure magazine named the Thunder Lake Trail in Rocky Mountain National Park as the best trail in Colorado. "In Rocky Mountain National Park, you can't do better than hiking to the Lion Lakes, a surreal chain of alpine pools. Take the Wild Basin Trail or Thunder Lake Trail — the former is more challenging at 11 miles — to see these exquisite pools," the magazine's site said. According to the National Forest Service site, Thunder Lake is at 10,570 feet and is nearly 7 miles from the Wild Basin Trailhead. A convicted felon triggered danger in Miramar.According to police, on Thursday, the suspect opened fire and shot an 18-year-old male after an apparent domestic dispute.The shooter took off and a toddler was lightly injured from a fall during the incident.Police on Friday arrested 44-year-old Corey Eford. (AP) — A southwest Florida couple has been charged with stealing more than $2 million in COVID-19 relief funds and using the money to buy boats, new businesses and other luxury items.Timothy Craig Jolloff, 46, and Lisa Ann Jolloff, 56, made their initial appearances Friday in Fort Myers federal court on charges of conspiracy to commit money laundering and illegal monetary transactions, according to court records. Timothy Jolloff is also charged with one count of wire fraud.According to a criminal complaint, Timothy Jolloff submitted false and fraudulent Economic Injury Disaster Loan and Paycheck Protection Program loan applications in the spring of 2020 to the Small Business Administration, as well as a PPP approved lender.
