Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run in San Jose

An adult man was struck by a car and killed Friday night in the 1900 block of San Jose’s Monterey Road – the 11th pedestrian to die this year, according to the San Jose Police Department.At 11 p.m. on Friday, an unknown vehicle hit the man, whose identity has not been released, and fled from the scene, police said. A second vehicle may also have struck the pedestrian after he fell. Medical personnel pronounced him dead on the scene.The identity of the pedestrian will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office once they confirm his identity and notify his next of kin.According to police, the fatality is San Jose’s 14th traffic death of 2023.The San Jose Police Department is investigating the incident and asking anyone with information to contact Detective Malvido by calling 408-277-4654 or emailing [email protected].Meneses’ homer in 9th lifts Nationals to 9-8 win over Dbacks

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (KVEO) - An eighth person has died after a driver ran over a group of people waiting at a bus stop in Brownsville, Texas on Sunday. The victims were at a bus stop in front of the Ozanam Center, a shelter for migrants and homeless people in the Texas border city, at 8:30 a.m. when they were hit.
