The following are selected briefs from the May 29 regular meeting of Picture Butte council.Volunteer firefighter tax creditsAs a follow-up to the policy brought in back in February, Fire Chief of the Picture Butte fire department, Frank West said, based on the volunteer firefighters and their commitments in 2022, the figure was as budgeted. “This year we did include in the operating budget, $15,000 to the credit.” It was requested that council pass a motion in accordance with the MGA approving the credits as presented.Council passed the motion to approved the tax credit for the firefighters as presented.West said, “I do want to convey to council my appreciation for this policy. Green Acres Foundation currently has two portfolios. In addition to the facilities owned by the Foundation, Green Acres also acts as a management agent of government-owned seniors apartment buildings on behalf of the government. The apartments are suited to low income residents and rent is often markedly lower than the regular rental market; the Foundation’s mandate is to provide safe and accessible housing for seniors for no more than 30 per cent of a person’s income.As of June 1, Green Acres Foundation has also acquired the title for the senior’s housing property in Barons. MALTA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An Albany woman was arrested in relation to a storage unit burglary investigation that started in March. Angelique Wilson, 33, is charged with third-degree burglary. On February 14, New York State Police got a complaint about a storage unit in Malta that was broken into and had multiple items stolen. Through investigation, police identified Michael Fox as a suspect and found he was one of a few that entered the storage facility without being authorized, broke the lock on the unit, and took items that weren’t his.On Friday, Wilson was arrested on a warrant. O'FALLON, Mo. - Authorities arrested three juveniles who reportedly broke into an O'Fallon home and stole a handgun Tuesday afternoon.The break-in happened around 5 p.m. Tuesday in the 2300 block of Mariposa Drive. Around that time, one witness had noticed three people entering his neighbor's home by breaking a window in the basement. St. Charles County residents upset over home value assessment The homeowner arrived while the suspects were still inside, though the witness stopped him from entering immediately. He called 911 for police assistance at the home. O’Fallon officers responded to the house and confirmed that the three suspects escaped from the home.
