People on social media have accused Oprah Winfrey of being “really gross” and trying to stage a “photo op” after she unsuccessfully sought to get a CBS film crew into a Maui evacuation center Sunday where she presumably hoped to be filmed talking to survivors of the deadly wildfires that swept though Lahaina last week. The media mogul, who owns some 1,000 acres on Maui and reportedly lives on the island part-time, may have been hoping for a repeat on-camera opportunity from last week. On Thursday she was filmed by a BBC crew at the War Memorial Complex in Wailuku, which is being used as a shelter for evacuees, the New York Times reported. She was seen distributing “basic necessities,” including towels, water and personal hygiene products to evacuees.Winfrey tried to return to the shelter on Sunday with her own camera crew from CBS. Initial reports Sunday said both she and the crew were denied entry because media were restricted, the Honolulu Star-A...James Bond, make room for the Oppenheimer Martini

J. Robert Oppenheimer wasn’t just a renowned physicist. He was a fine party host who often held gatherings at his Los Alamos, New Mexico, home for his colleagues, as moviegoers are learning at “Oppenheimer” screenings. And though the scientists’ atomic-bomb mission was dubbed the Manhattan Project, his drink of choice was the martini.Cocktail lovers who paid close attention during a party scene may have noticed Oppenheimer (as played by actor Cillian Murphy) mixing one for a guest. He takes a glass and dips the rim … Wait, what is that? Salt? Sugar? This hard-charging, chain-smoking scientist isn’t making a Lemon Drop, is he?Turns out he had his own concoction — a strong one. IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — New Iowa quarterback Cade McNamara wants complete command of the offense, right down to how the Hawkeyes break a huddle.“I definitely want to start every play with a good break,” he said. “If we’re not in sync, it looks a little sloppy. If we have a clean break, it just gets the play started off right.”McNamara has yet to take a snap for the No. 25 Hawkeyes in a game, but the Michigan transfer is the key to reviving one of the nation’s worst offenses. Iowa won eight games despite being 129th in total offense, 123rd in rushing and 122nd in passing and scoring.McNamara takes over for three-year starter Spencer Petras, who completed just 55.9% of his passes last season with five touchdowns and five interceptions.“I’ve been here seven months now, and it’s been the best seven months of my life,” said McNamara, Michigan’s starter in 2021. “I’m enjoying my time here, building my relationships with these dudes. Everyone here has been so welcoming to me. Now that I’ve ...Latest news
