ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. - There is a new warning about turtles for St. Louis area drivers. An alarming number of turtles are being hit and killed on Highway 367 from St. Charles County into Alton, Illinois.There are so many turtles trying to cross the highway there that people have been pulling over to get out of their cars and carry the turtles to safety.Margaret Kinder of Alton is one of those people.“It’s like more than a football field full of dead turtles,” she said. “I stopped, took about 5 (living turtles) off the road. ST. LOUIS – An officer’s police car was struck by rounds from an AR-15, yet he continued pursuing a suspect in September 2021. ST. LOUIS - There are renewed safety concerns surrounding a riverfront encampment along the Mississippi River. The City of St. Louis disbanded a tent near the same area along Leonor K. Sullivan Boulevard in March.Tents have popped back up along a flood wall. Authorities were in pursuit of a driver in a suspect stolen vehicle, who was also reportedly wanted for assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer. The suspect, driving what appeared to be a dark colored Jaguar with a passenger inside, was leading authorities in a chase on the westbound 10 Freeway after the pursuit originated in the Inland Empire. The driver was clocked at speeds of 140 miles an hour before exiting the freeway in downtown Los Angeles and later transitioning to the southbound 110 Freeway. Due to the high-speeds and dangerous maneuvering of the suspect, law enforcement ground units pulled back from the chase and tracked the vehicle from the air. A group of suspects evaded arrest after leading authorities on a high-speed chase through Los Angeles County on Thursday night.The suspects were originally wanted for theft, according to the California Highway Patrol.The vehicle was seen weaving dangerously through bumper-to-bumper freeway traffic before exiting in Culver City and continuing to drive erratically through Slauson Avenue.On surface streets, the suspect hit speeds of up to 70 miles per hour, at times driving into oncoming traffic lanes and running red lights.
